![]() I put thermal grease on the cpu top and spread it evenly across its surface, I don't think I got any on the sides. If it never makes a error beep code you are going to need to swap the psu, then the cpu with a spare and will probably need to head to the repair shop if you don't have spares to test with.Did you connect the CPU fan and, if you just installed the CPU, did it have thermal interface material (TIM or Thermal grease) on it or did you put some on it? Are any of the fans spinning up? Just keep a look out for physical damage signs when you are breaking down the build in case a capacitor failed or something fried, or someone spilled something somehow just in case If the fans spin odds are the psu is ok, if the motherboard produces a error beep code odds are the cpu and ram are ok and then start reconnecting the peripherals 1 by 1. ![]() If you still cannot boot into the bios/uefi try it again but without the gpu installed and only 1 stick of ram and no other devices plugged in either ( ie, no usb peripherals, no mouse or keyboard, nothing in the pci-e slots, no ethernet plugged in) at this point you just want to get the system to produce a error beep code. If I can't find out myself I will use a pc repair shop to diagnose.ĭisconnect the storage drives and reset the bios / remove the battery and wait a few minutes, reinsert the battery and try and boot into the bios /uefi. My next step would be to take off the cooler.Ī new build is in early planing stages, but I just don't have the time right now. As far as I understand it could be the cpu, the psu or the motherboard, if not any of the connections are broken. My question is how to find out what part is faulty so I can replace it. Provide any additional details you wish below. (Over 3 years ago, different gpu at the time, everything else is the same.) Post relevant photos of build/parts here. I also took out the ram sticks and put them back in, no effect. I also took out and put back in the power connections for the motherboard and the cpu with no effect. So far I tried reseting the CMOS with the jumper, no effect. List anything you've done in attempt to diagnose or fix the problem. My backlit keyboard will sometimes flicker a bit dimly, but won't turn on fully. The motherboard led is green, the cpu led is red. I built this PC over 3 years ago, it always ran really well and without problems and is very well kept. Generated by PCPartPicker 15:13 CEST+0200ĭescribe your problem.
